At Peace Vans we know a lot about small camper van living, from our expertise in the Vintage VW Camper van world, to our years of building out the Mercedes Metris. We rolled that knowledge and experience into this purpose-built Kitchen Box for the ID. Buzz, made from high quality materials and stocked with accessories from some of the top brands in the outdoor industry.
The Kitchen Box is not a recycled camper box from another platform, rather it is custom-built to maximize space in the ID. Buzz. From cooking, to cleaning, to storage, the Kitchen Box does it all. It also has some surprises built-in features: lighting, a speaker, and cleverly designed storage and prep areas to suit all of your needs.
We genuinely want to stress that last point - this is not a “recycled” kitchen box from another vehicle or a generic “back of car” unit like everything else you will see. This is the only product that is specifically designed for the ID. Buzz. It is also the absolute highest quality. We have seen so many of these units over the years and there is nothing worse than a poorly made (or even OK made) unit like this - they rattle, nothing really quite fits together, they break and they simply don’t deliver the quality experience. Will they be cheaper? Probably. And we could have made a cheaper version, but it just felt wrong. Everything in this unit is of the highest quality:
House inside a custom aluminum “chassis” which prevents warping over time and stabilizes all the wood parts
The drawer slides are the absolute best made and are rated for hundreds of pounds. Drawer slides are a notorious area for cutting corners - using cheap knock off ones or slides that are minimum rated for the use. Over time you’ll sagging, breakage and ultimately, failure
We use the highest grade wood and laminate and everything is precision CNC cut and hand finished by our team
Paperstone/Richlite and bamboo surfaces are not just aesthetically pleasing, but also the finest finishes you can find.
Highest quality components - Dometic, Sonos, FireMaple, etc. These are all best in class items we have tested over the years and built the Kitchen Box around

The Sleeper add-on combines the essential features of Peace Vans’ Kitchen Box with a sleeping platform to transform the rear of your ID. Buzz into a comfortable, nearly queen-sized sleeping area.
We sourced the absolute best mattress as possible and made the calculated tradeoff between size and comfort. To thick and your face is pressed against the roof, too thin and it’s a terrible night’s sleep.
The platform components discreetly fold away behind the second-row seats, offering the perfect solution for those who want to sleep in their van while still accommodating additional passengers.
PRICE
The cost to have a Kitchen Box for the ID. Buzz installed at our Seattle location is $7,995 + tax. The Sleeper add-on is an additional $2000 for a combined total of $9,995 + tax for the Kitchen Box + Sleeper.
If you are near the Seattle Metro area we would love to meet you and install your products for free. Not local? Three options:
1) Ask you local dealer to reach out to us and we can ship them the products and you can pay a small install fee. We have over 15 dealerships who can receive this product and install it.
2) We have local delivery installation options in 12 metro areas. Reach out to us to learn more
3) If our local delivery doesn’t cover you, we can help find a location to ship the products to. Residential delivery is unlikely to be an option.

Kitchen Box features
Compact Kitchen Unit: The Kitchen Box is equipped with a fully functional kitchen that includes a sink, iso-butane burner, and fridge. Each item has been selected as best-in-class for its category - with a Dometic refrigerator and water system, Fire Maple stove, and Sonos speaker.
Smart Storage Solutions: With space-saving drawers, pantry storage, and cleverly designed compartments, store all your essentials without clutter.
EV Charger Storage: We designed this unit specifically for the ID. Buzz, so we included a convenient and accessible place for the VW-supplied charging cable.
Built-In Charging: The Kitchen Box charges off of the ID. Buzz 12V system to power the fridge, light, and speaker.
Fits Perfectly: The Kitchen Box is designed to seamlessly fit into your ID. Buzz. While the unit does require removal of the third row of seats, there is still ample storage in the van.

STEP 2 - CONFIRM YOUR ORDER
We will confirm your order, and keep you in the loop as production starts. We also ask that you keep us in the loop about the delivery of your ID. Buzz (unless you are purchasing directly from Peace Vans).
STEP 3 - DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION
When your Kitchen Box is ready, we will arrange for delivery to your home, to an authorized dealer, or schedule installation at our Seattle location.

The Peace Vans Kitchen Box has everything you need to turn your ID. Buzz into the ultimate camper. The unit has ample storage for a fully stocked camp kitchen. A one burner isobutane stove, a 30L Dometic Fridge, 3L Dometic water system, Sonos speaker and Dometic camp light. And lots of other cool features.

There’s three ways to get a Kitchen Box:
If you want to come to Seattle, we would love to install a unit for you - for free. We’ll need 1-2 weeks notice to make sure we have the unit you want in stock. Install takes about 2 hours and we can couple it with other upgrades like swivel seats, awnings, wheel/tire packages etc. We can even help you find amazing places to camp including our exclusive camp site on the Olympic coast with a Level 2 charger :)
Ask you local dealer to contact us to get a unit shipped to them and have them install it. We are already working with several dealers who will stock our products
We can ship the unit to most Metro areas and have a team help install it. If this doesn’t cover you, we can work collaboratively to find a place to ship it to and walk you through the install (heavy, but easy(

Glad you asked! We’ve been to countless outdoor vehicle shows and seen, literally, hundreds of variations of these products. For the ID. Buzz we chose to build something from ground up that matched the quality and aesthetics of the ID. Buzz and also maximized the utility.
We use the highest quality materials - heavy duty drawer slides, euro-ply finishing, aluminum casing and more. Most other units on the market (and we’ve seen them all) don’t come close

Nope. While the unit, fully packed, weighs about 100lbs. the two rear seats that it replaces weigh more than that

Indeed so could we! But it’d fall apart, wouldn’t have the functionality, etc. In all seriousness, though, we always love seeing creative home grown solutions. There’s no question a qualified woodworker with some design experience and time could build a similar unit for less.

Unfortunately, the Sleeper extension requires the Kitchen Box. But, the Kitchen Box does not need to come with the Sleeper. In fact, you can add the Sleeper at a future date if you don’t want to commit now.

The Sleeper is 50” wide and 74” long. It comfortably sleeps two. There’s a good amount of room when sleeping between yourself and the roof of the van. The glass ceiling option does offer a few more inches of headroom.

Deploying the Sleeper is easy. First, you fold the second row of seats down. Then the articulated arms fold out and two support legs drop down. You then insert the slats to complete the platform, unfold the mattress and a perfect night’s sleep awaits you!
