EXCLUSIVE PEACE VANS CAMPSITES

Unwind, hang out, and explore one of our exclusive Peace Vans Camps.

One of the best perks of renting with Peace Vans is special discounted access to our exclusive campsites. What’s a Peace Vans Camp? It’s an idea we had a few years ago born from the desire to find better camping for our renters. We started seeking out land owners who shared a similar mindset, and also had epic land to camp on. Since then, we’ve co-created 5 of these little slices of camping heaven which are now exclusively available to our renters. These aren’t your “run-of the-mill, pull over and park your van, pack up and leave the next morning” campsites. Each offer a unique opportunity to experience the magic of that particular area. We’ve developed close relationships with local landowners to offer you a chance to discover the natural beauty, culture, and community of the folks lucky enough to call these places home.

If you find one available and it’s on your route, snag a night and enjoy a different experience than the typical campground.

Camp Forever Young (Hood Canal)

Feed the goats and sheep, get acquainted with Iris, Odin, and Thor (the Great Pyrenees farm dogs), hang with the flock of ducks, talk to the turkeys, and learn what it’s like to homestead on a small farm in the Olympic Peninsula. A stay at Camp Forever Young is a unique way to take a break from city life. This campsite is a big favorite with families, as kiddos learn about the daily operations of life on a farm—and it’s equally fun for adults. Ask owners, Simona and Sean, for a personalized outdoor adventure custom tailored for you. This site is a great first night stop on our Olympic Peninsula trip.

Explore the Area:

  • Visit Port Townsend (45 minutes). After you’ve logged some miles on the nearby trails, head to Port Townsend, one of our favorite towns in the state. You could easily spend a full day exploring this charming village-by-the sea. Port Townsend is steeped in fascinating history, from its early Native American roots to its Victorian architecture and maritime legacy, boasting two National Historic Landmark Districts. Add in a fantastic arts and culinary scene and you have a vibrant and diverse community on the bay. Hungry? Our favorites include: Velocity for some of the finest specialty coffees available on the Olympic Peninsula, Fountain Cafe for locally sourced, creative PNW cuisine, Propolis Brewing for award-winning seasonal farmhouse and barrel-aged ales, and Finistère for finely crafted small plates.

  • Hike Mt. Walker (30 minutes). A steep but short trail offers sweeping panorama views of the Olympic mountains and Puget Sound. From the North Viewpoint, take in the views of prominent Olympic peaks such as Constance, Warrior, Welch, and Mount Townsend. From the South Viewpoint, enjoy views of the Puget Sound, Mt Rainier, and Mt St Helens.

  • Peruse the orchards and sip the farmhouse cider at Finnriver Farm & Cidery (25 minutes). Finnriver may just produce the best cider in the PNW. Their ciders celebrate the soils, waters, and maritime climate of the Chimacum Valley. They’re deeply committed to organic agriculture, human-scale production, local economics, traditional craft, community collaboration, farmland conservation, habitat restoration, and land-based education and celebration. Check Finnriver’s calendar for events like live music, farmers markets, special tastings, tours, and more.

Seacrest (Kalaloch)

It may be bold of us to say that just one night at our Kalaloch camp will change your life, but we’re firm believers. Perched up in the towering evergreens above a quiet stretch of Olympic Peninsula coastline, Seacrest is a little slice of paradise. From this cliffside campsite you can watch the waves crash onto a secluded stretch of beach. A short, half-mile trail winds through the trees, over a small dune, twisted driftwood, and right to the sand. You can stick your toes in the Pacific Ocean in just a 10-minute walk from your campsite. The mist, the rays of sunshine beaming through the forest, the sound of the rolling waves, the cool ocean breeze, the sunrises, the sunsets … everything is just a little more magical here.

Explore the Area:

  • Explore Olympic National Park (distances vary). This site sits just a couple miles from the park entrance.

  • Grab a meal at Kalaloch Lodge (5 minutes). The creekside restaurant serves up fresh, local fare alongside breathtaking ocean views. If you don’t want to hop in the car, you can walk to the lodge from the campsite, just head north along the beach. It’s about an hour walk, so be mindful of the tides.

  • Beaches, beaches, beaches (several access points nearby). There are several access points to the north aptly named Beach 1, Beach 2, Beach 3, and Beach 4. Pick a number and enjoy a stunning sunset stroll. For a fascinating example of the tenacity of nature, check out The Tree of Life just north of Kalaloch Lodge.

  • Lake Quinault (35 minutes). The Quinault Valley is a wilderness gateway to alpine meadows, jeweled lakes and ice-carved peaks. The valley features a scenic loop drive and short trails through temperate rain forest in both Olympic National Park and Olympic National Forest.

  • Hoh Rain Forest (1 hour). Discover this lush, old growth temperate rainforest. With short hikes through moss-draped maples to longer treks past waterfalls and meadows, we highly recommend exploring this enchanting area of Olympic National Park.
