Overview
Our Fly-Try-Buy program is designed for those who are interested in buying a Mercedes Metris camper but want to try it out before committing. You’ll fly out to Seattle, take the van camping, and then make a decision. If you love it enough to buy it, then we’ll cover up to $500 of your flight cost AND 2-nights of rental fees! This program is also available to locals — fill out our interest form for more information.
Step 1: Fly out to Seattle
Sea-Tac Airport is an easy 20-minute ride from Peace Vans. Book a flight - it’s a hub for both Alaska and Delta, and most other airlines have convenient flights - and come on out! We will be waiting for you with a shiny Metris Camper all set up for you to camp.
Step 2: Try (AKA Go Camping!)
Visit one of our private campsites on the Olympic Coast or book your own sites. If you want help planning, our 5-Star team is ready to assist! We’ll ensure your van has everything you need for a great experience and even share tips for provisioning, cooking, and more.
Step 3: Buy!
At the end of your trip, if you loved your experience, make your deposit and be on your way to a lifetime of van adventures! We’ll credit the cost of your plane ticket (up to $500) and 2-nights rental fees off your final invoice. Decide it’s not right for you? No worries, we hope you still had a great trip!
DETAILS (Fine Print)
Rental fee is $265/night before tax. We will process this as a normal rental reservation with all the fees and taxes. You’ll pay that and receive a credit if you decide to buy a camper.
The rental fee is refundable up to 1-week prior to your rental dates. If your rental is canceled less than 1-week prior we will refund the cost less a $75 cancelation fee. Rentals canceled within 24 hours, and already completed, are non-refundable.
Insurance must be purchased through Outdoorsy and is not refundable.
Credit against a purchase will be the total of 2 nights of rental fees and taxes plus up to $500 total in plane ticket cost, for up to two people.
2-night minimum rental. If you purchase after a longer rental we will credit 2 nights of rental costs maximum against your camper invoice.

We love our furry friends as much as anyone, but kindly ask you not to bring animals along with you on your rental. The situation can get…hairy…

Peace Vans has two private campsites on the Olympic Peninsula that make for perfect overnight stays, or you’re welcome to book your own sites. Your rental includes an average of 125 miles per day, cumulative over your trip.

If you decide to purchase a van and pay your deposit within 30 days of trying out a van, we will apply your credit to your final invoice. If you decide after 30 days, check with us - we are almost always flexible.

No problem! Hopefully you have nice memories from your trip in the Metris! Please note that your rental cost is not refundable if you decide not to purchase.

We will provide you with some basic provisions, and can point you in a direction to buy more groceries if you need.

If it’s just you and a +1, we’ve got you covered! We’ll outfit your van with our exhaustive rental kits. We’ll make sure you have everything you need for camping. We can even include linens for an additional charge.

You don’t have to fly in to participate in this program! If you live nearby, you can drive to Peace Vans and we will comp. your nightly rental fee (up to two nights) if you decide to purchase a van.
